In short: Medical history, consents, cost plans and invoices run digitally here: by link or QR code on your own phone, encrypted and GDPR-compliant. That saves waiting at reception, avoids transcription errors and keeps documents available to you. If you would rather not, you get everything on paper — no questions, no disadvantage.
Digitalisation in a dental practice is usually described as an efficiency gain for the practice. It is that too. For you as a patient the benefit is more concrete: less clipboard, less waiting, less paper to lose.
Before the appointment
You receive a link, or scan a QR code in the practice, and complete your medical history on your own device — from home, unhurried, in your language. That has two practical advantages: you can look up medication names instead of spelling them from memory at reception, and we have your details before your appointment rather than recording them in the first minutes of treatment time.
During treatment
- Digital impressions instead of putty, checked immediately on screen
- X-ray and CBCT images visible beside the chair — you see what is being discussed
- Intraoral photographs as a shared basis: an image of your own gum situation explains more than any description
- Digital planning for implants and aligners, viewable before you decide
Cost plans and consents
Treatment and cost plans, explanations and consents are sent to you encrypted and signed digitally. You can read them at home, discuss them with your family and submit them to your supplementary insurer before you sign. When you sign the cost plan you also choose how to pay — at once or in instalments.
The most important effect is a matter of timing: there is no moment where you sign something in the treatment room under time pressure. Everything material can be read in your own time.
After treatment
Invoices arrive digitally and you pay them in the patient portal with the method you already use — card, direct debit, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Findings, plans and X-rays stay available there. For questions about the invoice itself there is a dedicated patient service, so you do not have to call the practice about billing.
Data protection and the paper option
All transmissions are encrypted. Where data goes to a service provider for processing, we obtain your written consent; it is voluntary, revocable at any time, and has no effect on your treatment. And the sentence that belongs with any digitalisation: if you want forms, plans or invoices on paper, say so once — then you get them on paper. That is not a special case and costs nothing extra.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a smartphone?
No. You can complete all forms in the practice on paper and receive documents in paper form. The digital route is an offer, not a requirement.
Is my data secure?
Transmission is encrypted and follows GDPR requirements. Details of processing and the service providers used are in our privacy policy.
Can I retrieve my documents later?
Yes, documents stay available to you in the patient portal. Your image data is also provided digitally on request, for instance for a second opinion.
Which languages are the forms in?
We advise and treat in German, Spanish, English and Portuguese. Ask us if you need a document in one of those languages.
