In short: You do not have to postpone necessary treatment because the total is too high to pay at once. Through our billing partner Nelly you can choose instalments when you digitally sign your cost plan, and set the amount, term and start date yourself. The terms that apply to your treatment are set out in writing in your cost plan before treatment begins — instalment amount, term and any costs are stated there before you sign.
The most common reason a sensible treatment does not happen is not fear and not lack of time. It is the figure at the bottom of the cost plan. So we raise the subject rather than waiting for you to.
How it works in practice
- Consultation and plan: you receive your treatment and cost plan and we go through it together — in German, Spanish, English or Portuguese.
- Choose how to pay: when you sign the plan digitally, you decide whether to pay the amount at once or in instalments.
- Set your own instalment: amount, term and start date are yours to set. You fit the plan to your budget, not the other way round.
- Confirmation: the check runs automatically, with no paperwork and no waiting at our reception desk.
- Treatment begins: you do not have to wait until the full amount has been saved up.
Invoices then arrive digitally by email or SMS — and you decide how to pay only at that point.
HOW IT WORKS ON THE INVOICE
Scan the QR code
Every invoice carries a QR code in the top right. Scan it with your phone camera — no app needed.
Set your own instalment
You see the amount and choose: pay at once or split into instalments. Amount, term and start date are yours to set.
Confirm, done
The check runs automatically. No call, no form, no conversation at the reception desk.
You can pay by card, direct debit, Apple Pay or Google Pay. Questions about the invoice itself go to a dedicated patient service at Nelly, reachable directly.
What this means for a larger treatment
With implants, extensive restorative work and aligner treatment, costs rarely arise as a single sum — they come in stages over months. That is where the practical advantage lies: treatments with several partial invoices can be combined into a single instalment plan. You then manage one plan, not three parallel ones.
What it does not replace
Instalments do not reduce the cost, they distribute it. Two other questions come before the question of how to pay: is the treatment necessary in this scope, and what are the alternatives? Both belong in your cost plan, and we name them even when the alternative is the cheaper one. We also check beforehand what your statutory insurance contributes as a fixed subsidy and what any supplementary dental insurance will reimburse — both reduce the amount that needs financing at all.
Data protection
Processing through Nelly means billing data is transmitted to the service provider, which requires your written consent. That consent is voluntary, can be withdrawn at any time for the future, and has no effect whatsoever on your treatment with us. If you would rather not, we invoice conventionally.
Frequently asked questions
Is there interest?
That depends on the term and the arrangement. Processing runs through Nelly together with a partner bank as the contracting party; the terms that apply are stated in full in your cost plan before you sign. There are no conditions you first learn about on the invoice — ask at the consultation and we will work it through with you.
Will my creditworthiness be checked?
Yes, the check runs automatically as part of the digital signup. You see the result immediately, so there is no waiting and no conversation about it at the reception desk.
Can I change the amount or term later?
The setup happens when the agreement is concluded. If your circumstances change, contact the patient service — raise it early rather than after a payment has been missed.
Does this apply to treatment covered by insurance?
Instalments apply to the amount you carry yourself — your co-payment and private services. The statutory fixed subsidy is offset before that.
Do I have to apply for instalments at the practice?
No. You select it yourself when digitally signing the cost plan, on your own phone, including from home.
