TECHNOLOGY & EQUIPMENT

Technology is not an end in itself. It makes treatment plannable.

Scan, 3D X-ray, planning, surgical guide, printing — the entire digital chain sits in one practice. That shortens routes, saves appointments and makes results predictable instead of leaving them to chance.

THE EQUIPMENT

What we have — and what it is good for.

No device replaces a careful examination. But each of the following removes an uncertainty from treatment that would otherwise only surface in the chair.

01

3D X-ray (CBCT)

FIELD OF VIEW 15 × 15 CM · ONE ROTATION

Cone beam computed tomography produces a three-dimensional data set of the jaw in a single rotation. With a 15 × 15 cm field of view, upper and lower jaw, sinuses and temporomandibular joints are all captured in one scan. Bone height and width become visible to the millimetre, along with the course of the mandibular nerve, the anatomy of branched root canals and the position of impacted wisdom teeth.

WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU

No second scan because the field of view was too small. No referral appointment at a radiology centre. And no implant planning that has to guess from a flat image where the nerve runs. The radiation dose is considerably below that of a medical CT; we only take an X-ray when the diagnosis genuinely requires it.

02

Intraoral scanner

DIGITAL IMPRESSION · NO IMPRESSION MATERIAL

A handheld camera passes along your teeth and the three-dimensional model builds live on the screen. No tray, no setting material, no gagging. Imprecise areas are rescanned in the same appointment instead of being re-impressed in a new session.

WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU

More comfortable appointments — particularly with a pronounced gag reflex. The data goes to the laboratory digitally, without transport and without waiting for plaster. And because every scan is stored, changes can be compared over years: gum recession, wear, tooth migration.

03

Guided implantology

SURGICAL GUIDE · CBCT + SCAN OVERLAID

The CBCT data set and the intraoral scan are superimposed exactly in the planning software. Position, axis and depth of every implant are defined virtually — aligned to the future crown, not merely to the bone that happens to be there. That plan becomes a surgical guide which allows only one single position in the mouth.

WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU

The procedure takes less time and, in suitable cases, can be carried out without extensively opening the gum — less swelling, a calmer recovery. Above all, the position you saw in the planning is the one that ends up being placed.

04

3D printer at the practice

GUIDES · MODELS · TEMPORARIES · SPLINTS

What has been planned is printed in house: surgical guides for implant placement, working models, temporary restorations and bite or grinding splints. The route from file to finished part takes hours, not days.

WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU

Fewer intermediate appointments and a shorter wait for a temporary. If something does not fit first time, it is adjusted and reprinted — usually without you having to come in a second time.

05

Piezosurgery

MECTRON · ULTRASOUND-ASSISTED BONE SURGERY

Instead of a rotating drill, a fine ultrasonic tip does the work. It cuts hard tissue selectively and leaves soft tissue — nerves, vessels, the sinus membrane — intact. We use the technique for bone grafting, sinus lifts and impacted wisdom teeth.

WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU

A considerably lower risk of injuring neighbouring structures — and generally less swelling and discomfort in the days afterwards. The sound is different too: not drilling, but a quiet vibration.

06

Aligner simulation

TOOTH MOVEMENT IN ADVANCE · ON YOUR OWN SCAN DATA

From your intraoral scan the software calculates the planned course of treatment and shows, aligner by aligner, how the teeth are meant to move. You see the projected end state before the first aligner is produced — on your own dentition, not on a sample case.

WHAT THAT MEANS FOR YOU

You decide on a visible basis rather than on a promise — including the question of whether aligners are the right tool in your case at all.

A simulation is a projection, not a guarantee: the actual result depends on bone, gums and how disciplined you are about wearing them.

Discussing findings on screen between Dr. Rodríguez Ruíz and the team

FINDINGS & DISCUSSION

See first, then decide.

All images appear on screen immediately — and we go through them together with you, not over your head. You see the same pictures we do, and you can take them with you on request.

For treatment planning that means less guesswork and more certainty — with implants, root canal treatment and the assessment of gums and bone alike.

DIGITAL SMILE DESIGN

Your smile — planned before it is treated.

For aesthetic treatment we work to the Digital Smile Design approach: photographs, proportions and facial features feed into a digital design that can be tested as a mock-up directly in your mouth — before a single tooth is prepared.

SPEAKING OPENLY

When we take a CBCT — and when we do not.

A CBCT is not a routine scan. We use it when three-dimensional information genuinely changes the treatment: before implant placement, with impacted teeth, with complex root canal anatomy or unclear findings. Where a simple X-ray is enough, that is what it stays.

THE LIMITS OF TECHNOLOGY

Devices do not decide.

A surgical guide does not make a wrong indication right, and a simulation does not replace an examination. The equipment removes uncertainty from the execution — the decision whether and how to treat we make together with you.
