Your path to
veneers

Veneers are wafer-thin ceramic shells bonded to the front of your teeth. They correct shape, colour and small irregularities in position – and still look like your own teeth, only better.

A veneer is bonded to the front surface of the tooth
A veneer covers only the front of the tooth. The ceramic is roughly as thin as a contact lens.
1
Consultation
We listen to what bothers you about your smile and assess whether veneers are the right route.
2
Design
Using photographs and impressions we design your new smile. You see the result in advance.
3
Try-in
Temporaries let you live with the shape and colour before anything is final.
4
Fitting
The finished veneers are bonded in place. The appointment takes a few hours.
Good to know
Veneers usually require only a very small amount of enamel to be removed. That step cannot be undone – which is exactly why we take our time over the consultation.
Whiten first
Veneers never change colour afterwards. So any whitening of your remaining teeth should be finished before the shade is chosen.

Caring for your veneers

Your dentist Fitted on Shade
The first few days
  • Your gums may be briefly irritated and your teeth sensitive to cold and heat. This usually settles within a few days.
  • On the first day, eat nothing very hard, so that the bond can fully cure.
  • If your bite feels unfamiliar or an edge bothers you, tell us – small adjustments are quick to make.
Every day
  • Brush twice a day with a soft brush and a non-abrasive toothpaste. Strongly whitening pastes leave the ceramic dull.
  • Use floss daily – the margin at the gum in particular needs to stay clean.
  • The ceramic itself does not stain, but the bonding line does. Coffee, red wine and nicotine show there over time.
Please avoid
  • Biting nails, chewing pens, biting thread with your teeth
  • Opening bottles or packaging with your teeth
  • Very hard items: nut shells, bones, ice cubes
  • Grinding your teeth unprotected – if needed we will make you a night guard
How long they last
Well-cared-for veneers last many years. What matters is healthy gums, a settled bite and regular professional cleanings, at which we check the margins and polish them gently.
Your next step
We will see you again after about two weeks to check the fit, your bite and your gums. After that your usual rhythm of check-ups and professional cleaning is enough.
We look forward to seeing you again.
