All-on-X · Full-arch implants

A whole arch,
fixed in place.

All-on-X is a complete set of upper or lower teeth carried by four to six implants. One bridge, screwed to bone rather than resting on gum — and in most cases fitted on the day of surgery.

4–6 implants.
10–14 teeth.
One day.

01 How All-on-X works

Three parts, working as one unit.

Your jaw is scanned in 3D, the implant positions are planned on screen, and a printed guide transfers that plan into the mouth. The bridge is then screwed to the implants, so the chewing load is carried by bone — not by the gum, and not by a plate over the palate.

The implants
Four to six titanium roots per jaw. The rear pair is set at an angle to reach dense bone and to keep clear of the sinus and the nerve.
The bridge
Ten to fourteen teeth in one piece, screw-retained. You cannot take it out — we can, at your maintenance visits.
The bite
Designed from your face as much as your jaw: lip line, midline, tooth length, and the height a collapsed bite had lost.
When a fixed arch is the right answer
+No teeth left in the jaw
+A denture that slips or needs adhesive
+Teeth loosened by advanced periodontitis
+Broken-down roots and failing old bridges
+Bone loss that has ruled out single implants
+A collapsed bite that has shortened the face
+Food avoided because chewing is unreliable
+A covered palate that has dulled taste
Not every jaw is a candidate.
Very severe bone loss, untreated gum disease, heavy smoking, uncontrolled diabetes, radiotherapy to the jaw and certain osteoporosis medications change what can be done safely. Your 3D scan and medical history make that clear at the first appointment, not halfway through.
What we assess before an implant is placed
Full-arch treatment is planned backwards: from the teeth you should end up with, to the bone that has to carry them. Five things decide the design.
01Bone volume in 3D
02Nerve & sinus
03Gum health
04Bite & jaw height
05Health & medication
02 Your treatment

Six steps, from first scan to final bridge.

01
Consultation & 3D diagnostics
Examination, 3D CBCT scan, digital intraoral scan, photographs and bite analysis, together with a careful review of your medical history and medication. You leave with a plan, a timeline and a written estimate.
60–90 minutes
02
Digital planning & design
Implant positions are planned in your CBCT data, the new teeth are designed against your face, and both the surgical guide and the provisional bridge are manufactured before you arrive.
1–2 weeks
03
Surgery day — and fixed teeth
Any remaining teeth are removed, the implants are placed through the guide under local anaesthetic or sedation, and the provisional bridge is screwed on the same day. You go home with teeth.
3–5 hours
04
Healing & integration
A soft diet for the first weeks, and reviews at one week, four weeks and three months while the bone grows tight onto each implant surface.
3–6 months
05
Your final bridge
A fresh scan of the integrated implants, a try-in to confirm bite, speech and lip line, then the definitive bridge in zirconia or titanium-ceramic.
2–3 visits
06
Maintenance, for as long as you have it
Professional cleaning under the bridge, a torque check on the screws and an annual X-ray. This is the part that decides how long a fixed arch lasts.
Twice a year
The first week, honestly.
Expect swelling, bruising and pressure for several days, managed with cold compresses and ordinary painkillers. Most patients are back at work within a week, on soft food, and speaking normally within a fortnight.

03 Before you decide

Why a fixed arch, and the questions patients ask most.

+Fixed — nothing to take out
+No adhesive, no plate over the palate
+Chewing force close to natural teeth
+Taste and speech stay unobstructed
+Angled implants often avoid bone grafting
+Facial height and lip support restored
+Implants slow further bone loss
+One planned treatment, one clear estimate
Will I leave the practice with teeth?
In most cases, yes. A fixed provisional bridge is fitted on the day of surgery. It is not the final bridge, but it looks like teeth and you can eat with it.
Is the surgery painful?
It is done under local anaesthetic, with sedation on request. Afterwards expect pressure, swelling and bruising for a few days, controlled with ordinary painkillers.
Why four implants and not eight?
Four in the right positions, two of them angled, carry a full arch reliably. Six or more are placed when your bone volume and bite ask for it — not by default.
How long will it last?
The implants are intended to be permanent; the bridge is a wearing part that can be renewed. Cleaning and twice-yearly maintenance matter more than any other factor.

“A fixed arch is not four implants and a bridge. It is a bite rebuilt to the right height, in bone that can carry it, designed so you can keep it clean for twenty years.”
